The Jaycees (Junior Chamber of Commerce) are a Young Person's Leadership Training Organization. We teach business acumen and personal development through community service. The Jaycees are an International Organization, serving over 123 Nations and/or Territories since 1910. We are not affiliated with your local Chamber of Commerce.
The Melbourne Jaycees have been in the Eau Gallie/Melbourne area since 1946. We have been instrumental in many of the things you see day to day, and were the originators of many of the fun things you enjoy, such as the Independence Day Parade/Front Street Park Party, The Christmas Parade and Haunted Houses/Trails, to name but a few.
We continually strive to better ourselves and the community around us. I hear you ask, "Why haven't I heard of the Jaycees before now?" There is a simple answer to that... we won't toot our own horn! We won't buy advertisements on radio and television. If they are kind enough to donate the time, then you'll hear about it. Fundraising goes to it's specified Charity... and nowhere else! We are all volunteers... and although the work may seem like a lot, we know that it is with good reason that it's being done.
